weekly photo challenge: rule of thirds

Posted on

We are sharing a photo where our subject is off-centre – Mont St Michel in France at sunset in the lower third. The colours of the sky and of Mont St Michel itself makes for a movie mystery setting. If you would like to see more photos of Mont St Michel – we have a photo essay you can check out.

If you want to see more off-centre photos – see The Daily Post

How do you get around to all these places from Australia? I’ve been living in the UK and I’ve still not made it to Le Mont St Michel!

LOL – we’ve been to Europe twice but both times for 4 months 🙂 To get out of the country and to another takes us 3 hours at least so we make the most out whenever we can. And we try to get overseas at least once a year…
We work and live to travel 🙂

well the sky in this shot is actually what pulled me in from the reader – feels like a painted sky that brings the eye right down to this gorgeous structure (Mont St Michel) –

Thanks Yvette – it was a truly magnificent sky to witness especially with Mont St Michel perched beautifully in the middle. We couldn’t go wrong with this shot 🙂

      Hope your weekend was divine!

Brilliant capture, monkeys. The sky does look great, like it’s opening above Mont St Michael. Lower third, I haven’t seen too many photos like that. Or rather, it seems people like to use the rule or thirds more so in landscape view as opposite to portrait.

Hope you are having a good weekend. Finally we get a mid-thirties summer Melbourne weekend. Finally 😀

Well hello there Mabel! Hope you had a lovely weekend too and a fabulous CNY – We have eaten a LOT over the past 4 or so days. We need to exercise for the next 4 months to burn it off!

Thank you so much for your observations of our photo 🙂 We didn’t know what picture to choose until we stumbled across this one!!

      Have a fabulous week ahead.
