The moment we drove up the highway and laid eyes on it… we were speechless! Water so blue, on a day where the sky was brilliantly blue. Sweeping mountainous backdrops. Yep…. no words can describe the sheer beauty.

And so, we won’t even try to use words…  We do hope however our favourite photos of Lake Tekapo can  do it some justice.

Where have you been that has left you speechless?

We want to hear about a place you have been to where you were so overwhelmed with its beauty. Tell us here.

It’s in South Island NZ – we stopped there overnight on our drive between Christchurch to Queenstown.

Lake Tekapo left me speechless as well. I loved loved loved it. But I was left in awe at many places in Norway, Trollstigen, just outside Åndalsnes, Skånevik, Geiranger, and Nepal…….

Beautiful, guys. As for me, I’ve been to so many incredible places, not sure how I would choose the most spectacular. You can’t go wrong with the South Island of New Zealand, however. –Curt

Great photos! Looks amazing. New Zealand is a place I would love to visit, but haven’t gotten round to it quite yet.

Without a doubt, the most breathtaking place I have ever seen is Tibet. With so much history and a place that struggles with maintaining a genuine freedom of identity due to oppression, the landscape and the setting is incredibly beautiful. I don’t know if it has something to do with the altitude, but the locals’ dedication to traditional ways of living is definitely something that has allowed the land to continue as it should without much development and human interference. I recommend it!
In fact, if you go to my blog post – https://deeperthanyouraveragepuddle.wordpress.com/2015/01/08/dont-sht-where-you-eat/ – you can see a couple of my photos. However, the blog post itself is a tad political, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
I implore you to go and visit. If you decide it’s a place you’d like to go, please let me know, because the tour guide I used (you can’t go through Tibet without one by law) was the nicest man, a local chap, who I am still in touch with and who has the most genuine passion for showing people the wonders of his homeland.

Beautiful, beautiful blue! Such a stunning shade…maybe I am biased because my favourite colour is blue 😉 The mountains look like they are painted on in the sky. So clear and crisp. It must have been fairly cold there… Hope you guys are doing well. Summer is well on the way here 🙂

Hi Mabel – we love blue too, so were totally in love with the scenery. It was VERY VERY cold at night and early mornings but during the day was comfortable 🙂 Hope you are well!!
