swinging in after a leave of absence
We have been M.I.A for a while but we are back… for now at least ๐
Checking in from: Copenhagen, Denmark
We arrived this morning at 6.30 am, after 24+ hours of travelling. The flight and transit was great. We arrived feeling rested and fresh: the first time EVER on a long-haul flight.
After a VERY quick freshen up at the hotel, we hit the town. We walked and walked and walked….
We will leave you with a photo from today which really sums up Copenhagen: Nyhaven.

Exploring the place on the walk what would be better than this. After having a long flight journey you explored the place that is marvellous

Thanks for your comment ๐ Everywhere has something a little “iconic” right? And this is probably Copenhagen’s.
September 19, 2016 at 2:08 am
That’s such a gorgeous picture! I hope the two of you have a wonderful time on your trip.

Welcome back! And great pic of Nyhavn ๐.
I am sure you will enjoy Copenhagen, I went two years ago (https://outofofficereplyon.com/category/blog-2/denmark/ – for my tips) and would defo go back again.
Don’t miss going to the top of the Church of Our Saviour: great views!๐

Copenhagen is a great place to roam. I was there in June for a long weekend, and I loved it. I would recommend renting a bike, it’s easy to bike around and you cover more ground. I wrote a couple of pieces about our biking route and things to see on the way..
Check out my posts from July 2016 and you will find where we biked… You might get some ideas on places worth visiting ๐ Here is day one… https://minimalistsometimes.com/2016/07/05/copenhagen-biking-the-city-part-1/
September 19, 2016 at 1:55 am
Hi Anne! Thanks for the tips ๐ It is such a great city to explore. We will take a look at your post to read about your adventures!
September 19, 2016 at 2:19 am
There are two posts about biking the city, if I can recommend ONE place you really need to go to eat, it’s at Copenhagen street food, I so wish we had known about it from day one… If you check my map on biking day two, you will find where it is ๐

Rested & fresh? Must have been one of the new generation aircraft (e.g. A350, A380 or B787)? LOL
September 19, 2016 at 1:54 am
Hi K! Actually, it was an older plane but we were SOOOOO tired that we slept well on the leg between Singapore to Copenhagen (which is a first) ๐

So beautiful! Also looks like good weather too. Feeling fresh with sunshine all over. Great feeling. Enjoy Denmark ๐
September 19, 2016 at 1:53 am
Thanks Mabel ๐ The mornings have been great and then the afternoons become overcast. There is no rain, so we can’t complain! Hope you are well.

Such a beautiful photo. Nice to see you posting again and I’m looking forward to reading more about your newest adventure. We’re in England at the moment, having a wonderful trip.
September 18, 2016 at 12:43 pm
Oh wow!!! England is very much on our target list of places to revisit. We were there almost 10 years ago and very ready to go back and explore.
Enjoy your trip ๐
September 18, 2016 at 4:31 pm
There is so much to see here and we are already talking about what we’ll do next time.

So happy to find this check in – I was thinking about your blog this week!
And sometimes a few words says so much – like this:
“Walked and walked and walked”
Whew
Ok – be safe and enjoy Denmark

Hi Yvette! It has been a long time… Blogging requires inspiration and at times we were so caught up in other things we didn’t dedicate the time we should’ve to it!
Anyway, lovely to hear from you and thank you for the message.
September 19, 2016 at 2:47 am
well I hear you – and I think we all have different seasons of blogging – it is a mixed endeavor for sure….
anyhow, nice to connect!

Thank you ๐
September 18, 2016 at 12:46 am
You’re welcome.

Nyhavn is a special part of Copenhagen. Beautiful, but very expensive, if you wish a drink or just something to eat.
September 18, 2016 at 12:44 am
Definitely a beautiful spot in Copenhagen ๐ And we are probably used to Sydney prices so surprisingly are not too shocked by the prices here.
September 18, 2016 at 12:46 am
Okay, if you enter other places in both Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark, then you will find the prices more reasonable ๐
I am Danish, but live in Spain now.
September 18, 2016 at 12:48 am
Ahhhh…. so you know Denmark well ๐
Do you have a recommendation for somewhere worth trying for lunch or dinner?
Spain is a wonderful country… and much more reasonably priced ๐
September 18, 2016 at 1:06 am
It is some years ago, I lived in Copenhagen and I’m not sure, how many of the restaurants, as I knew, still exists. But close to Nรธrreport Station, you have a street called Kรธbmagergade and here you will find a lot of nice restaurants. Take a walk through the street and look around, before you decide where to enjoy your dinner ๐
September 18, 2016 at 1:09 am
Thanks for the advice. We will try close to the station ๐
September 18, 2016 at 1:10 am
There are also several very good restaurants in Tivoli, the prizes are fair, but not cheap.
September 18, 2016 at 1:12 am
That’s good to know. They have evening shows on, so might make a night of it…. Thanks!
September 18, 2016 at 1:16 am
Yes, they have and some Fridays also concert ๐
