swinging in after a leave of absence

Posted on Updated on

We have been M.I.A for a while but we are back… for now at least ๐Ÿ™‚

Checking in from: Copenhagen, Denmark

We arrived this morning at 6.30 am, after 24+ hours of travelling. The flight and transit was great. We arrived feeling rested and fresh: the first time EVER on a long-haul flight.

After a VERY quick freshen up at the hotel, we hit the town. We walked and walked and walked….

We will leave you with a photo from today which really sums up Copenhagen: Nyhaven.

Thanks for your comment ๐Ÿ™‚ Everywhere has something a little “iconic” right? And this is probably Copenhagen’s.

Copenhagen is a great place to roam. I was there in June for a long weekend, and I loved it. I would recommend renting a bike, it’s easy to bike around and you cover more ground. I wrote a couple of pieces about our biking route and things to see on the way..

Check out my posts from July 2016 and you will find where we biked… You might get some ideas on places worth visiting ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is day one… https://minimalistsometimes.com/2016/07/05/copenhagen-biking-the-city-part-1/

There are two posts about biking the city, if I can recommend ONE place you really need to go to eat, it’s at Copenhagen street food, I so wish we had known about it from day one… If you check my map on biking day two, you will find where it is ๐Ÿ™‚

Rested & fresh? Must have been one of the new generation aircraft (e.g. A350, A380 or B787)? LOL

Hi K! Actually, it was an older plane but we were SOOOOO tired that we slept well on the leg between Singapore to Copenhagen (which is a first) ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Mabel ๐Ÿ™‚ The mornings have been great and then the afternoons become overcast. There is no rain, so we can’t complain! Hope you are well.

So happy to find this check in – I was thinking about your blog this week!
And sometimes a few words says so much – like this:
    “Walked and walked and walked”
    Whew
Ok – be safe and enjoy Denmark

Hi Yvette! It has been a long time… Blogging requires inspiration and at times we were so caught up in other things we didn’t dedicate the time we should’ve to it!
Anyway, lovely to hear from you and thank you for the message.

Nyhavn is a special part of Copenhagen. Beautiful, but very expensive, if you wish a drink or just something to eat.

Definitely a beautiful spot in Copenhagen ๐Ÿ™‚ And we are probably used to Sydney prices so surprisingly are not too shocked by the prices here.

Okay, if you enter other places in both Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark, then you will find the prices more reasonable ๐Ÿ™‚
I am Danish, but live in Spain now.

Ahhhh…. so you know Denmark well ๐Ÿ™‚
Do you have a recommendation for somewhere worth trying for lunch or dinner?
Spain is a wonderful country… and much more reasonably priced ๐Ÿ˜‰

It is some years ago, I lived in Copenhagen and I’m not sure, how many of the restaurants, as I knew, still exists. But close to Nรธrreport Station, you have a street called Kรธbmagergade and here you will find a lot of nice restaurants. Take a walk through the street and look around, before you decide where to enjoy your dinner ๐Ÿ™‚

There are also several very good restaurants in Tivoli, the prizes are fair, but not cheap.
