weekly photo challenge: eerie
The Daily Post photo challenge for this week is EERIE.
This is an extremely tricky photo choice for us as we don’t normally take photos that are eerie….. So scouring all our photos that we’ve taken in the past 9 years, this one is probably the closest that we can get.
Taken in Pompeii, Italy: if you have been there, you will too have seen plaster casts of many victims.

Eerie, considering this was this person’s final expression before they suffocated in a rain of ashes.

Yes, and thank you so much for dropping by my blog. Jim’s last great wish came true: we travelled as a family to Ecuador instead of chasing medical treatments. He loved adventure, and I’m trying to carry on that spirit with our children. What a wonderful life you have!

I would agree that this is a very eerie pic. Pompeii is a very spine-tingling place to visit, and even though there were other tourists around, I found that there was an eerie stillness which seems to have permanently settled over that unfortunate city. Thanks for visiting my eerie post. π

To think these people were frozen in time when Mt Vesuvius erupted…. was frightening!
November 3, 2013 at 12:09 am
Can you imagine what was going on in that person’s mind when he/she was frozen like that for immortality? Yes, truly eerie.

Absolutely!! Don’t think we can truly imagine…
